Crea Ruach Creative Arts Repertoire

Our newest works:

Title:  Complete
I was inspired to create a piece on the Fruit of the Spirit. As I researched these, I found that the Holy Spirit is often mentioned in Scripture in connection with the Law: Law reveals sin, repentance leads to faith in Christ and redemption, and the receiving of the Holy Spirit. The fruit of that is again shown in abiding in Christ and him in us, and outliving the law – from the heart:
Jer 31:33 "This is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel
after that time," declares the LORD.
"I will put my law in their minds
and write it on their hearts.
       I will be their God,
and they will be my people.

We have been working on three items (Fruit of the Spirit): Law, Joy and Peace.
Each section explores and visualizes essence and characteristics; as we were lead to interpret them.

Title: The Glasshouse
Corinne’s mother died in 1987, she was in her 40’s. As Corinne was approaching this decade as well, she was drawn to finally create a work in remembrance of her mother. The piece is depicting her life using the imagery of a rose, its early growth, the buds, the beauty when opened up, the storms, the hardship and the withering of the rose and death. The allergy of the glasshouse represents the confinement of her mothers life, she beautiful but captive of her own emotional and surrounding limitations.

The Swiss Alps very much represent home and a place of belonging for Corinne Urquhart. She developed this dance as a prayer for the Holy Spirit to descend and touch the land and people. The imagery of the Alps and the Echo depicts the outworking of the Holy Spirit as it touches and moves through people's hearts and action, and echoes throughout their surroundings.

Title: Landmarks
Style: Contemporary/Australian Indigenous Music and Theme
Performers: Four dancers
Audience: All ages

Australian Indigenous Music and Theme. The dance is inspired by the Australian Indigenous People; how their spirituality is very much connected to their land. The walkabout connects them with their stories and history.

The Israelites also built altars to represent encounters with God - through which they left landmarks in space and time to remember God speaking to them. Whenever they travelled and passed by they remembered God's work on earth.

In this dance the dancers go through individual personal landmarks together, depicting God's work in and through them, ending in building a landmark of the cross.
