It's time to celebrate!!
A very exciting year for Crea Ruach Creative Arts, 2007 celebrates the 10 year anniversary of the birth of a vision for creative arts ministry and, the founding of the company by Corinne and Robert Urquhart. Soon many dancers joined the company, such Rebecca Roberts and Nicole Serje. In addition to these, Nicole Dennis and a variety of other dancers have been part of the company also, for various seasons.
During these wonderful and fruitful years, the company of artists has created a diverse repertoire, expressing their love for God through dance works in contemporary, classical ballet and in more recent months cultural dance style. These works will be performed at the upcoming festival- concert 'Splash' (splashing of colours of joy and life and dance)!

The purpose of the concert is to produce a festival of cultural relevance, a depiction of current issues in society and to honour God through it. We invite you to come along and celebrate with us, see some of our most favourite works, and enjoy cultural food and music.

The venue chosen: Auburn Baptist Church , is located in a very multicultural part of Sydney . The ministry of the Church is to reach many people from different cultural background, such as Turkey , China , Korea , India , Sri Lanka and Africa. The festival will be another opportunity for the ministry in Auburn to reach out with the Good New of Christ.
The repertoire will be very diverse in style and message.
Over the years many pieces have been developed, mostly with the aim to express our worship of God, but also to depict a theme or topic of interest. 'Burn-out', 'Friends', 'Walking on Water', 'Got'nothin', 'In the waiting', 'Surge of hope', Uniquely Me' are all pieces reflecting relevant issues of people's lives - the coping with stress and burn-out, living with pain and uncertainty, the fast pace of life, friendship, pregnancy, or living in transitional stages.
Most recently the repertoire has embraced a new dimension, -the influence of cultural dance. Living in Australia and being part of a very multicultural society, dance can be a good reflecting reflection of society and culture. The art of dance is much more a vessel of communication and embracing each other's cultural differences. Getting to know a culture and gaining appreciation for it is very much achieved by being exposed to its art, festivals and celebrations. Who doesn't love being part of the Chinese New Year Celebration or the various street fairs around Sydney ?!?
As Christian believers we seek to honour God through the diversity of mankind, and to redeem all art forms, in our case dance, back to God. We love to be inspired by the beautiful expressions of all the cultures surrounding us. To start out, we focused first on the cultural background of the company dancers, which are Celtic, Swiss, Indian and South American. From there we ventured into the Australian Indigenous culture and will hopefully expand into Afro dance and other European dance styles as well. The works are all a fusion of cultural, contemporary and classical ballet.
