1) After seeing CR perform ‘Surge of Hope’  in Journeying outwards:
Feed-back Jane Farrelly

Enjoyed it very much, she said she was crying throughout the piece

  1. Beautiful Christian dancers – doing the choreography justice
  2. She felt we were God’s voice in a void place (emptiness)
  3. Capturing God’s presence
  4. Transformed the evening from the empty place to a God honouring presence.

Jane has made many sacrifices for the development of Christian Dance over the last years, taken low pay and was getting a sense of burn-out, but God was saying keep going. Mary called her that afternoon and asked her to come along. Jane actually had a SCA Christmas dinner that night, but felt that God was saying to come along.

When she saw Surge of hope, she knew why. It was so wonderful to se such great Christian dancers. It gave her a "surge of Hope". It restored her motivation to keep going with Christian Dance. God encouraged the vision.

2) Feed-back Auburn Baptist Combined Churches:
‘Thanks for your willingness to minister to us. We all very much appreciate what you did with the ‘Philippians movement’. Some have commented that it was the best combined Service… we ever had!’
Malcolm and Val Armstrong

3) Feed-back on Splash: Reflections on “Splash”

1) I think you did a fabulous job last night, all the way from your leadership through to the excellent performances.
This performance will be a milestone for Christian dance in Sydney, I believe.
Mike Elliot

2) This is my reflection on my experience of engaging with the dancers on the night of “Splash”.
“Meeting God face to face and experiencing his love and cultural diversity”,
Nicole Butcher.

3) My reflection on Nicole’s reaction: This was the first time Nicole had an opportunity to see Crea Ruach in action and she was almost bursting with joy.  She told me she had to restrain herself from jumping out of her seat.  It was at times a worshipful experience for her and a special blessing when they danced to the same song Nicole and Martin had for their bridal waltz.
My own response: I just can’t get two images out of my mind even over one month since “Splash”.    a) The incredible beauty of the Swiss Ballet piece.  I love being touched by God’s beauty and that presentation certainly was a reflection of God’s beauty - the pictures of Switzerland, the music and especially Corinne’s glowing, smiling face.
And, b) The other image is Rebecca’s smile – it lit up the room whenever it appeared!
Congratulations on a wonderful “Splash”! Such God glorifying beauty!
Sharon West

4) A few of us splashed out at SPLASH! on Saturday 7th July!  Congratulations to Robert and Corinne Urqhart for pioneering and developing the Crea Ruach creative dance vision over the past 10 years... it was great that a few of us in The New Space were able to celebrate the evening with you.  What a great idea to have a multi-cultural food feast during the interval of the multi-cultural creative progamme...
A highlight was the display of Anne Parker's artwork which Anne did in prayer support and in an advisory capacity for the Landmarks presentation on the night.  It was also great to see Elisa dancing so beautifully in a solo (or maybe a duet, if you count the Cory and her little one 'on the way'?!)
Lucy Jerasius-Park

5) I just want to congratulate you and your team on the very professional and enjoyable presentation of the "Splash" concert on Saturday.
I thoroughly enjoyed it -and the food was excellent too :) Best wishes with your future activities Blessings
Lissette

6) Thanks for your kind invitation to "Splash." Was a truly rich experience!
I really liked the Indian & the Swiss pieces (but I'm being very subjective!)
'Splash' is the sort of presentation that can allow the Spirit of God to work, minister, thaw out hearts, convict, guide, etc
To all the players - very well done! Impressive! Bravo!
Had flashbacks of my performing days at the Ensemble Theatre at Milson's Point.
Congrats & well done!
Michael Hunnam

What people say about us:

Jill Sykes quotes in the Sydney Morning Herald: ".something happens to make Bodies seem worthwile! Corinne Urquhart's "Burnout" turned a serious subject - the problems of waste and systems collapse - into an amusing episode in a fish tank. After faithful duty cleaning up after everybody else, the scavenger fish went on strike. Her moment of rebellious power came to a sticky end but not before a well-prepared blend of movement and words had entertained us with its macro-micro ideas and tasteful poo jokes. I promise you."

Review by Jacqueline Pasco, Dance Australia Magazine, August/Sept 2002: "Corinne Urquhart's Burnout was a gorgeous high camp social satire with excellent performances.and besides all  already mentioned dancers whose exceptional performance skills caught my eye was..Stephanie Gill."

.Thank you from Simon Grace (Five to Midnight):"Many thanks to you all for your part in our night.  I was very happy with your dance and the people I have talked to really enjoyed the variety that it added to the night.  Your professionalism was obvious and I particularly enjoyed the way the stories in the songs came to life in such a sensative way.  Thanks so much.  I will be recommending  your work."

Thank you from Noel Bell Chairman of Ebenezer Emergency Fund: "Thank you for your whole hearted contribution towards the EEFA meetings last Friday and Saturday, ...it is a vital ministry to the body of Christ!"

Thank you from Aglow Australia Joyce Chowns: "Thank you for blessing us with your wonderful gift from the Lord..."

"A great surprise. Guts and pain, dreams and visions, the everyday and                 the extraordinary - from the faces I've seen, but people I've not known. More stuff which builds community and promotes spirituality" (Cafe Church Glebe)

"Thank you in leading us in such beautiful worship. I am delighted that you came, and thank you for all your work and preparation" (Kambala Church of England Girl's School)

"Thanks again for your ministry on the day. It fitted tremendously well and was a real blessing" (Riverstone Baptist Church)

Pastor Gary Lewis

To whom it may concem,

It is my great pleasure to recommend to you the ministry of Robert and Corinne Urquhart  Crea Rauch  'creative worship through music and dance'. They were invited to our church to present several items which would exhort the people to worship the Lord, and to provide some training for those interested in movement and dance in worship.

Throughout their presentation there was a clear sense of synergism through the use of movement and dance, simple backdrops augmented with sensitive music and song. Their presentation was a powerful aesthetic blessing-both visually and aurally. Many people commented afterwards how they were touched by the sensitivity and creativity of the their presentation. Their original presentation of 'Jesus in the Temple' was quite powerful and innovative. The 'Father of Creation'was an anointed invitation to worship; whilst the piece in the 'Sanctuary' was intricately presented.

Corinne's sincerity towards worship was enhanced by her clarity in explanation of the significance of each presentation; whilst Robert's gentle but strong support was evident throughout his keyboard playing.

The aftemoon workshop was thoroughly prepared and presented. Corinne was careful in her approach to the participants in the workshop. She provided every opportunity for questions and feedback. Her ability to question and interpret creative movement theologically is a great asset to their ministry. The time allowed for the group to look at the Beatitudes was very beneficial. If the group had had more time, we would have benefited from being able to develop a unique presentation of movement depicting the Beatitudes. However, I am very sure that each participant now has a greater appreciation of the intent behind the implications, explorations and expression of creative worship through music and dance.

Our small church was blessed through their visit and we pray that the Lord will open up many opportunities for Crea Rauch's ministry to grow and be a blessing to many churches and Christian Schools and organizations.

Yours in His service

Gary Lewis
